My Seniors Keeper Foundation is an intergenerational 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing environmental stewardship, sustainable food systems, and community resilience in Washington, DC, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Through applied research, education, and hands-on community engagement, MSK connects seniors and youth to develop practical, community-driven solutions that promote sustainability, restorative justice, and equitable opportunity.
MSK is a community-led organization rooted in service, stewardship, and shared learning. Our work brings together youth, seniors, returning citizens, and community members to address real challenges through hands-on solutions.
We focus on building knowledge, skills, and systems that allow communities to care for their environment, support one another, and create pathways for long-term stability.
MSK’s work includes supporting returning citizens through workforce development and hands-on training programs that provide pathways to stability and reintegration.
MSK operates through an applied research model that centers learning, testing, and implementation in real community environments. Our garden and project sites function as living laboratories where ideas are developed, tested, and refined through hands-on experience.
This model allows participants to engage directly with food systems, environmental practices, and community-based solutions while contributing to projects that strengthen neighborhood resilience.
Rather than separating learning from practice, MSK integrates education, workforce development, and community service into a single approach that produces measurable outcomes.
MSK incorporates renewable energy and resilience strategies into its work to support communities in preparing for disruptions and reducing dependency on traditional systems. Through demonstrations such as solar-powered cold storage and energy-efficient infrastructure, participants learn practical approaches to energy independence and sustainability.
These systems are integrated into MSK’s broader work in food access, environmental stewardship, and workforce training, ensuring that communities are equipped with both knowledge and practical tools.
MSK operates in Washington, DC and Tulsa, Oklahoma, adapting its work to meet the needs of each community. While grounded in the same core principles of stewardship, education, and resilience, programs are designed to reflect local environments, challenges, and opportunities.
Through the Mind, Body & Soil Community Learning Program, MSK is expanding its model to the historic Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
